A walking excursion from Solvang to Los Olivos devolved into a slow rolling car-aided road trip as our planned sunny hike turned rainy. While clouds and moisture turned the skies gray, the dampened light saturated the tall grasses and oak trees a luxurious velvety green. Ribbons of yellow lay across the hillside. When the rain retreated, it invited majestic brooding clouds. Shadows tangoed with light to the amusement of one particular by-standing bison.
