Evening light dancing on the hilltops and the smell of Sage lingers in the breeze. At the entrance to the garden we pass through a portal and are taken to a place where beauty and serenity surrounds us. Slowly wandering along the path and stopping to enjoy the flowers and to listen to the birds, frogs and the sound of water trickling into the pond. Messages on the rocks remind us to take a spiritual approach. Bees are busy collecting pollen and now a hint of lavender joins the sage in the breeze. All along the winding path are benches and rocks where one can stop, sit and reflect. The end of the path brings a viewpoint with a wooden bench carved with the phrase “Joy is a special wisdom.” At sunset we watch as the sun slowly sinks on the horizon and the sky is painted with fire and light. Lingering as long as we could it was time to return the way we came and to take with us the peace found in this garden.
There is new life in the soil for every man. There is healing in the trees for tired minds and for our overburdened spirits, there is strength in the hills, if only we will lift up our eyes. Remember that nature is your great restorer. – “Calvin Coolidge”
